Embracing Our People

The Health, Safety, and Welfare of Our People

We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all our employees, contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders. We acknowledge that some of our activities and business relationships may pose potential negative impact on people's safety, and therefore we have developed policies, procedures, and processes to mitigate these risks. These include an Environmental, Health and Safety policy (which applies to all employees, contractors, subcontractors, and all operational areas in Axxela and all its entities), emergency response plan, journey management procedure, environmental, health and safety management system plan, standard operating procedures, an incident investigation process,

bi-annual facility audits, provision of adequate PPEs for personnel and ensuring compliance. We also engage with our stakeholders regularly to ensure feedback is gathered, reviewed, and implemented appropriately.

We have developed a hazard register that is reviewed at least once every three years or when there is a significant change in the process that requires updating. We use a systematic approach to identify hazards that involve observation, facility inspections, process or asset audits, special tools, and measurements of hazards and associated risks. Hazards are then evaluated using one or a combination of observation, literature review, brainstorming, gathering evidence, and risk assessment procedures.

As of the reporting year, we had a total workforce of 105 employees, consisting of 81 permanent employees and 23 temporary employees.

From the statistics above the fluctuations in the number of employees between reporting periods were a result of a considerable number of departures, but this was met with a substantial number of new hires to replace them.

Fostering an Environment of Inclusion

The Axxela Diversity Policy aims to promote diversity and inclusion among its employees, which can have a positive impact on decision-making, work practices, and diversity across the system. However, there are also potential negative impacts, such as reinforcing stereotypes and increased legal liabilities. To manage these risks, we have implemented effective monitoring of the policy, appropriate sanctions for noncompliance, and periodic evaluation of metrics.

We are committed to achieving our diversity objectives through tailored job applications, training, and development programs. There were no incidents of discrimination reported during the reporting year, and the company's Board and key stakeholders are committed to monitoring diversity performance.
