Business Stakeholder Management Lead

Company Brief/Aspirations:

Axxela Limited is a subsidiary of Glover Gas & Power B.V., a portfolio venture co-owned by Helios Investment Partners LLP (UK) and Sojitz Corporation (Japan). We are currently pursuing a growth strategy aimed at scaling our current investments across the Oil & Gas market in Africa. Our vision is to power Africa with innovative energy solutions. We have developed over 360km of gas pipeline networks in Nigeria, and we are currently delivering natural gas to about 200 industrial and commercial consumers in Nigeria and West Africa.

We are looking to engage an experienced Business Stakeholder Management Lead to support the Head of Business Stakeholder Management in the development and implementation of Business Stakeholder strategies that can sufficiently drive Axxela’s business. The role will undertake and implement stakeholder engagement planning, develop effective communication materials, and engage with a cross section of stakeholders.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of an enterprise stakeholder engagement plan and facilitate their alignment with development opportunities in the business plan.
  • Lead the implementation of the stakeholder engagement plans including the planning and execution of stakeholder events, correspondence, creation of appropriate documentation and the recording and analysis of feedback.
  • Support the initiation and coordination of strategic relationships and partnerships with relevant stakeholders to deliver the company’s development programs.
  • Provide advice with regard to stakeholder requirements for Axxela’s strategic plan development, stakeholder engagement, and program implementation, to engender support and provide clear information to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Support relevant teams (opportunity maturation, operations, ) to deliver gas and power opportunities.
  • Preparation of written briefings, reports, submissions, and correspondence to relevant stakeholders (Federal and State governments, Communities, Ministries, Parastatals, and Agencies)
  • Act as liaison for different internal teams and external stakeholders ensuring consistency and accuracy of communications and alignment with advice of any relevant committees and working groups.
  • Interface and manage relationships with Axxela’s core business partners to ensure the alignment of business interests.
  • Builds networks throughout the gas and power industry and with cluster and government

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Political/Social Science, Law or other related fields
  • Minimum of seven (7) years cognate work experience, spanning government relations, strategy and/or business development
  • Good knowledge of the Oil & Gas and Power sectors
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local Oil & Gas and Power regulations
  • Knowledge of government processes at the federal, state, and local levels
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret a variety of detailed legislation and regulation documents
  • Possess good network at all levels of government agencies and parastatals
  • Public relations experience

Strategy & Planning Analyst

We are currently pursuing a growth strategy aimed at scaling our current investments across the Oil & Gas market in Africa. Our vision is to power Africa with innovative energy solutions. We have developed over 360km of gas pipeline networks in Nigeria, and we are currently delivering natural gas to about 200 industrial and commercial consumers in Nigerian and West African markets in addition to projects currently under maturation in subsectors such as Gas Distribution, Power Generation, Gas Processing, and other Energy Solutions.

We are looking to engage a Strategy & Planning Analyst to support the implementation of Axxela’s medium-term business plan as well as monitor and report on the execution of other corporate plans.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking to engage a Strategy and Planning Analyst to assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of strategic and business plans for Axxela. The incumbent supports the Strategy and Planning Manager in carrying out Axxela’s strategy, planning, and corporate performance monitoring function.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of the organisation’s strategic plan, including long-term and annual views.
  • Support the Strategy and Planning Manager in coordinating business planning, goal setting and forecasting, initiative prioritisation, and performance tracking and reporting across the organisation.
  • Research and analyse market trends relating to the organisation’s business and overall strategy.
  • Provide support and insight into significant organisational changes (e.g., the shift in strategic focus, mergers, and acquisitions).
  • Coordinate annual corporate retreats and brainstorming sessions on specific company initiatives.
  • Facilitate collaborative development of cross-asset strategies, initiatives, and contingency plans.
  • Assist in the development of business proposals, operational business requirements, and business plans per asset as well as ensure successful execution of the initiatives created, as required.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies for generating incremental value for the company.
  • Support the development of business/investment cases for new frontier opportunities and other strategic opportunities.

Essential Requirements:

  • 1st degree in Business Administration, Economics, or related fields
  • Minimum three years’ experience in strategic planning, business process optimisation, finance or related fields
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Ability to develop simple business plans
  • Ability to develop simple quantitative and qualitative analysis and financial models.

Corporate Communications Analyst

We are currently pursuing a growth strategy aimed at scaling our current investments across the Oil & Gas market in Africa. Our vision is to power Africa with innovative energy solutions. We have developed over 360km of gas pipeline networks in Nigeria, and we are currently delivering natural gas to over 200 industrial and commercial customers in Nigeria and the West African markets.

We are looking for a Corporate Communications Analyst to support Axxela’s Corporate Communications Team. The role requires practical experience in business writing and content development, reputation building and management, and supporting with the execution of communication strategies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop high quality, engaging business writing/content for various stakeholders and channels including website, blog, speaking/thought leadership pieces, editorials, white papers, and internal comms etc.
  • Possess good understanding of the energy sector (industry trends, environmental/sustainability practices, regulations etc.) to effectively communicate company’s position and initiatives.
  • Support with cross-functional engagement, gather insights and content for the implementation of different communication initiatives.
  • Support crisis communication efforts, developing the right key messages and ensure effective implementation as needed.
  • Ensure effective tracking and analysis of communications efforts and performance using relevant metrics and tools; develop regular reports and identify areas of improvement.
  • Support the development and execution of plans for major events on behalf of Axxela
  • Support and ensure compliance to communications models and templates.
  • Support internal communications and change management efforts on major corporate projects and business initiatives with specific focus on communication strategy development and deployment.
  • Manage relevant and necessary 3rd party relationships to ensure the protection of our corporate reputation and interests, while also attaining communications objectives

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 1st degree in Humanities, Social Sciences, etc. or other fields
  • Minimum 3 years cognate experience (Communications, Creative Writing, Agency, PR/Media) within a reputable and structured business environment, preferably a multinational corporation within the Oil & Gas industry
  • Strong business writing and content development skills with the ability to develop clear, compelling, and error-free content in different technical areas.
